چکیده
Background: In North Sumatra, Castanopsis costata is commonly used by traditional practitioners for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, however, no studies have been carried out to substantiate this practice. Therefore, study aims evaluate anti-diabetic activity extract and fractions C. leaves in mice with alloxan-induced diabetes. Methods: Swiss albino diabetes, were acquired subjected experimental evaluations. Subsequently, fasting blood glucose levels diabetic groups treated glibenclamid, fractions, as well untreated group, evaluated after two weeks therapy. Results: Based on results, ethanolic considerably reduced mice’s a dose-dependent manner, at dosages 25, 50, 100, 200 mg/kgBW (% DBGL: 21.10%, 46.36%, 58.94%, 60.93%, respectively). addition, water fraction produced greater reduction 78.93%), compared ethyl acetate n-hexane 67.06% 58.83%), respectively. Meanwhile, antidiabetic drug, glibenclamide (5 mg/kgBW) 50.75% levels. Conclusion: findings, concluded exhibit significant activity. This supported claim that Sumatra use plant treatment.

To study the anti-diabetic effects of the crude leaves extract and fractions of Thymus schimperi Ronniger in normal and steptozotocin induced diabetic mice. The crude extract and the fractions were screened for antidiabetic activities in streptozotocin induced diabetic mice. A normoglycemic mice model and oral glucose tolerance test were also undertaken to assess the hypoglycemic and antihyperg...

متن کاملAntidiabetic and antioxidant potential of ethanolic extract of Butea monosperma leaves in alloxan-induced diabetic mice.
The possible protective effect of ethanolic extract of B. monosperma leaves (BMEE) on diabetes and diabetes-induced oxidative stress was evaluated in alloxan (ALXN)-induced diabetic male adult mice. Experimental animals were divided into three groups viz., I, II, and III. Diabetes mellitus (DM) was induced in groups II and III mice by a single intraperitoneal injection of alloxan (150 mg/kg bod...
